Fish and chips; sausage and mash; apple pie and custard; traditional combinations of British food we all know and love. But another perfect partnership, originating from France, was enjoyed by over fifty friends at a social gathering on Saturday, 12th April.
‘Cheese and Wine’ was the delicious supper offered at St. Mary’s Church Centre, organised by Beryl and Vic Dyer, assisted by wine expert John Duce. Six wines from around the world were served alongside a delicious assortment of fresh breads, six different cheeses, pates, grapes, celery and tomatoes.
The evening passed all too quickly, or perhaps the wines just made it feel that way! A raffle and the ticket sales together raised a total of around £200, which will be put towards the updating of the kitchen in the Centre. Many thanks to all who worked so hard, and to those who supported the event.
