On a sunny Saturday in June, the two Woodbridge (St Mary’s) Rainbow Units potted up some planters and scattered wild flower seeds at Winifred Fison House in Melton. They were joined by residents and the front entrance was transformed with lots of colourful blooms.
The girls also gave ‘thinking cups of kindness’ - a flower with a poem, in a pot decorated with bright squares, just like Elmer, the Elephant. Stories of the past, present and future were shared, then cake and squash consumed.
Real community spirit was evident, not least by the sponsors and contributors: Jewsons of Woodbridge, Robertsons Boatyard, Flagship Housing, Notcutts, Dobbies, Royal Botanical Gardens Kew, #Grow Wild, Kathy Fraser, Rita Alkins, Ros Champkin and Girlguiding Seckford District.
